My interest in watches was first piqued as a kid by my dad's Pierce Brosnan James Bond era Omega Seamaster quartz. It was not just the watch itself, but also the experience of sitting in a jewellers in Holland and being part of that experience with him when he bought it.

From that point, I was hooked on the aesthetic of watches and always had something on my wrist. From Casio to Timex, I always had my eye on the next digital or analogue quartz watch.

It was only years later, when I was able to purchase my first luxury watch - an ETA era Tudor Black Bay - that my fascination with mechanical watches really began. This watch ignited an obsession with the design, craftsmanship and that feeling on wrist that all watch people know. The bug had taken hold.
